I recently participated in a local fundraising event for the first time, and thought I would share the experience with you. Palette to Palate, was an event to benefit KETCH and the nearly 500 adults with developmental disabilities in their vocational training, residential supports, and adult day services.
The stated mission of KETCH is “Helping Kansans with disabilities to live and work in our community by promoting choices, independence and a better life” My mission for this event was to work with Rebecca to create a piece of artwork that would be auctioned off at the 5th annual Palette to Palate. Rebecca did a wonderful job on her piece, don’t you think?
At the event itself, the participating artists set up their work in an adjoining room for the guests to peruse and purchase if they were so inclined. It was a snowy, blustery night, but people still turned out to support this event. The meal by Wichita Marriott Chef Peter Moretti was superb, and I enjoyed meeting some of the area artists.
All in all, it was quite the evening!
