Week in Review

This week was filled with the “usual” assortment of activities for me.  I helped my daughter with the KID’S CREATE summer art class she is teaching.  The week we used Ed Emberly’s book as a launching point for learning to draw fun little animals, then choosing one to paint on a tiny little canvas.  This was the book I was in love with when I was a kid, so it was fun to pass on its joy!

I wrote a Bible Study for my Tuesday morning group on James, the brother of Jesus.  I need to do some catching up, but my Bible Studies are posted over on Down Victory Road.

Mid week I took the day off and watched my 6 month old twin grand babies.  They change so fast, it is nice to spend a little time with them once in awhile. It is also nice to be able to return them to mama at the end of the day!

At the end of the week I enjoyed an all day string of workshops, starting with a basic and advanced class on altering National Geographic Magazines with Citra Solv Concentrated Cleaner.  It was a beautiful day, so we worked out on my screened in porch where we could hang our creations on a clothesline.

I also had a musical easel workshop where I take everyone through basic steps of creating a mixed media piece of art.  The fun part is that we switch canvases every time we take a new step!

In between all of this I worked on children’s book illustrations, and got a good start on a commissioned piece of art.  I also went to some garage sales and found some lovely frames to put new art in.

All in all a busy, productive week!  How about you?
