Freshly finished, this 18 x 24 canvas has multiple layers of reverse painting, alternating between the negative and positive spaces. It has a representation of all four seasons in one piece.
To start with, it looked like a big mess! If you look close, you can see that I added in some map pages and Citra Solv papers as well as lots of paint, spray inks, stenciling and more.
Then I painted around leaves and flowers with a coat of gesso.
In the next layer, I isolated a couple of trees and a few birds.
I added autumn leaves and winter snowflakes to the summery leaves and spring flowers.
After some final touches…. done!
