Keeper in Abstraction

posted in: ABOUT THE ART | 6

I am having alot of fun with this new to me style.  I took an abstract class from Brian Hinkle over a year ago and it got some ideas stirring around in my head.  I am just now getting around to trying them out, and I am pretty pleased with the results thus far.  I think my favorite aspect is the color combinations.  I used paper, chalk pastels, Shiva oil paint sticks, and acrylic paint.  for the lines I used both stabilo and a Derwent Inktense pencil in bark color.  I modeled the piece after my “Keeper in Brown”, keeping a few of the stencil images recognizable within the Keeper of the Plains image.

Which do you like better?

I thought the brown one was so awesome, and it is, but the red one I LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

These are both wonderful! Your style is fresh and individual and shows a sense of play.
