What’s Happening Around Here

As you know from Friday”s post, I am spending a couple of weeks here at the Red Barn Studio in Lindsborg, Kansas as artist in residence. Last week I painted some globes, and this week I plan to work on some small series paintings.

I got a good start on the first series yesterday, and am anxious to get back to work on them. But even during my residency so many other things have been going on as well.

On Saturday I participated in the Workroom’s last Artisan Market of the season. It turned out to be a glorious sunny day!  Thank you to all who came out and  stopped by my booth! For those of you interested in my mounted prints, the Workroom’s is now all restocked!

A big thank you to my husband who prepped 50 mounted prints while I was off arting at Lindsborg!

Also over the weekend, I had artwork in the ROAR art show in Russell, Kansas. I am so thrilled that my “Bison on the Plains” won second place!

I have also continued on with the inktober challenge. In using the prompts they give I am stretched to draw things that I don’t usually draw. While I do use an inking pen on Procreate, I don’t use actual pen and paper so I don’t know if these strictly qualify as inktober drawings, but they do serve the purpose of holding me accountable to learn how to do my sketches on my iPad where I can hopefully keep better track of them and work a little more efficiently!

I fell a little behind during the busy weekend, so clock was the perfect prompt for this super quick drawing of my grandmother’s Big Ben alarm clock.

Hope you all have a terrific week!
