Epic Migration Artwork Series

posted in: ABOUT THE ART | 0

I recently completed a commision for a woman who had lived in Kansas, but had migrated to California.  These are my first three pieces of art completed in 2019! She wanted pieces reminiscent of Kansas for her new home, as well as a piece representing California. She was the dream customer, providing me with ample photos of scenery as well as photos of the room in which they would hang.  Then she told me to just have fun!

The first piece represents Kansas home town living, while the second depicts the Kansas countryside.

Both the Kansas pieces are a large 24 x 36 inches on a deep cradled wood panel. The California piece is 24 x 24 inches, and will hang on a different wall.  I wanted all three to have some cohesive elements even though the representd different geography.  Can you spot three things that all of them include?

These pieces were created using papers altered with Citra Solv… one of my favorite techniques!

If you would like prints of these, request by name in my etsy shop!
