I finished a new mixed media collage piece this week for a local gallery’s special exhibit of small works. I always love the process of collage, watching the layers of papers and paints come together into a finished piece. In this piece I used a lovely napkin, Citra Solv papers, book pages and map pages to create the land, sky, and tree.
In between strips of torn paper, I added coordinating paint. I also added a touch of stenciling.
Once the background was complete, it was time for the tree…hand cut from another sheet of my Citra Solv altered paper.
The tree was added to the canvas, and more paper added to…
I covered the whole thing with some clear gesso so that I could use my Derwent Inktense pencils to add some shading and detail.
Love the colors! Thanks for the visit!
