Not long ago I had another 52 Card Pickup Workshop, this one hosted by Studio 13 in Hutchinson. The theme of this one was to create something that would be a blessing, either to keep or to share. With a deck of 52 playing cards, we were able to create a blessing for each week of the year! I hope to make a deck of little art treasures that I will randomly leave here and there for some stranger to find and be blessed by. (If you want to find out more about this idea, check out the Art Abandonment Project!)
I brought all kinds of fun supplies to use, stencils and sprays and stamps, and stickers, and papers, and paints…. Then we just let the creativity flow!
Here are some photos of the fun we had!
And of course we had fun with the trading at each stage of the process!
Hope you can join the next one!

This is really cool! Making art out of cards, which I’ve never heard of, and the Art Abandonment Project. Love it!! Thx for sharing!

I love the idea of tiny little originals accomplished this way, and then spread throughout the world!

Reblogged this on Create art everyday and commented:
Ok, this is a great post all on its own, but how cool is the Art Abandonment Project? Our chance to fling arty goodness upon an unsuspecting world!

Fabulous idea! I’m going to be in Kansas next week, any chance you are teaching a class that’s open? Bringing my journal on the road was so inspired by your vacation book last year. Thanks!

I am having a leather painting workshop in my home near Haven on Friday, March 13, 7 pm. Cost is $20 and I will supply everything you need to paint a leather cuff, but you can also bring your own leather, vinyl, or canvas purse, shoes, billfold… to paint as well! Check out my post to see some examples (I have added some fun new techniques since that post)! https://fromvictoryroad.com/2013/04/15/painted-purse-tutorial/ Would be great to meet you!
