I have been making cuffs out of old leather belts for awhile now, and have accumulated quite a number of belt buckles. I have hung on to them, being sure that they would be just great for something. After seeing a cute necklace on Pinterest by Joan Williams, I knew just what I wanted to do with them!
Last week, with the help of my daughter and her nimble fingers, we turned these buckles into some beautiful necklaces. I love being able to re-purpose “trash” into something wonderful!
This one has a vintage clip earring dangling inside.
I love the two different chains on this one, as well as the antique skeleton key.
The green thread worked through the chain makes a nice touch.
The combination of the hinge with the turquoise beads accents the cowboy look of this piece.
A simple gold locket sets off this simple gold buckle.
I really like the asymmetrical look this feather brooch adds to this necklace!
A fun collection! I will be taking them to Vintage Market Days May 6-8 where I will have a booth. Hope you can come!
