I recently held a workshop at Tessera Fine Art Gallery on Paying Tribute. Some brought their own photos and memorabilia to create a tribute to a loved one, while some made a more generic piece of art. We all learned how to distress, antique and generally age our pieces so that they had that “vintage” look. We also worked in layer after layer to create a bit of faux encaustic look. It was a lot of messy soupy fun!
This is my tribute page in my art journal, to my Grandmother who got me started in art!
One of the many steps on our way to a completed canvas!
If you missed this workshop, I will be teaching it again next spring!
