I love watching my granddaughters create. They are so free, uninhibited, and creative. Sometimes I recycle a portion of the plethora of art they produce by preserving it on one of my own art journal pages. That is exactly what I did with this very lovely watercolor heart done by my then 6 year old granddaughter Khloe. There is some sort of message of hope in her heart (see the word in the upper left corner?) which seems absolutely fitting to include in my page. I took color cues from her art in adding the border of cut papers to my page. I added a whimsical character with a crown without much planning or forethought, just letting myself enjoy the process as much as the children do. The delight of creating is enough… at least sometimes!
