A couple of weeks ago I taught a 4 day mixed media workshop at Tessera Fine Art Gallery called “Explorations in Mixed Media”. The art that I am sharing today were a couple of demo pieces from that workshop. I also wanted to share some photos from the workshop, because I am pleased with how everyone’s art turned out! Above they are holding some of their favorites.
One of the pieces that I started during the workshop as a demo piece, then brought home and finished was “Call of the Woods” which is now hanging at Tessera Fine Art Gallery.
This was a fun piece for me. I started with a wood panel and stained the wood with alcohol inks, then added lines of glue, paint and paper. I defined the trees with reverse painting. These were all materials and techniqes that we had learned in our 4 days of workshops. The class will be displaying their pieces at the gallery in June and August. I can’t wait to see all of their finished pieces hanging together!
I am also super excited about the next 4 day workshop coming up at Tessera Fine Art Gallery in September. It will be creating, binding, and filling an art journal! I have all kinds of ideas and have already starting planning and preparing!
