There is a part deep within us that enjoys something whimsical… something that steps beyond reality to the place of play and dreams. It may be boldly whimsical, or a bit more subtle, but its presence in any degree transforms our art into something that brings a smile to those who view it.  According to the dictionary, whimsy is  the quality of being slightly odd or playfully humorous, especially in an endearing way. Just a touch of whimsy can help express things in our art that reality just can’t!  It evokes an emotion… usually on the lighthearted, happy side.  Whimsy seems like an intangible quality… but is it really?  In this workshop we will practice four practical techniques to create a finished whimsical piece of art or art journal page.
