Mixed Media Mandala

posted in: ABOUT THE ART | 0

This Mandala is totally different than anything I have done before, yet uses some of my favorite elements… a mixed media background selectively painted over, and Citra Solv papers cut and pieced on top.

I made the background on the 24 x 24 inch canvas by pouring and splashing and dripping fluid acrylics, alcohol blending solution, GAC 100, salt, inks, … basically any medium I found handy!

There was a lot of brush line work on this piece.  Precision and symmetry are not usually elements of my work!

The bright turquoise blue really made things pop!

All done!  Kind of refreshing to do something totally different once in awhile!

Very pretty. I know that you can’t be sleeping more than a cat nap or two a day. You are the most active artist that I personally know. WOW!
