Ever After High

EA 2 INSIDE

A couple of years ago I was commissioned to make a couple of my stash books by a company that was presenting an idea for a line of new dolls to Mattel.  The premise of the dolls was that they were the children of fairy tale characters who are breaking out of the mold and living out their own stories, and would be called Ever After High. I made the book boxes, sent them off, and forgot all about them….. until I ran across the resulting toys by Mattel recently!

How fun to see the company’s concept turned into a product with toys, games, and videos!  I had to buy the paint book for myself of course!

I have to admit to being a little disappointed in how pink and plastic everything became, but, *sigh* such is the reality of creating for little girls! Anyway, it was fun to be even a tiny part of the project, and to get a glimpse into the long process from concept to completion!

Kayann, your talent runs to your artistic core and deeper, if possible. Color me amazed and waiting for the news of your next realm of art exploration and creation.

That is so cool that your art work helped that business present their concept in a visual way and assisted them in getting their product to market. I too recoil from anything that smacks of stereotypical girliness but there’s clearly a market for it out there. I absolutely love your book box. I would love something like that for storing little bits and bobs in. You are so very multi-talented.
