“We need women who are so strong they can be gentle,
so educated they can be humble,
so fierce they can be compassionate,
so passionate they can be rational,
and so disciplined they can be free.”
Kavita Ramdas
As the mother of six daughters, and grandmother to six little girls, I have long pondered how to raise strong young women that can also be tender and not overbearing. I think these words sum up the challenge well, and I am pleased that my now adult daughters seem to exhibit these qualities. The kind of women we need in the world are those who possess a confidence in their body, mind and spirit that has no need for arrogance, or grasping for power, or hissy fits!
(This is available as an 11 x 14 print in my etsy shop. Ready for framing and gifting and inspiring the young women in your life!)

That’s a fantastic quotation and your painting is beautiful, really expressive. I’m the mother of four boys but I’m still raising little feminists.
