Art supplies can be pretty pricey, but there are lots of great alternatives out there that make things a little easier on the pocket book. Knowing when it is worth it to use the high dollar supplies, and when a cheap alternative will work just fine is also a helpful way to cut costs in art making. Most of us already have things around the house that we can use use.
I held two workshops over the weekend at Tessera Fine Art Gallery in Wichita to address these cost cutting topics while creating a mixed media on the cheap project on a pine board.
See the cool fly swatter “stencil”?
I think they all turned out pretty great!
Next workshop at the gallery is June 11, Painting With Paper… It’s gonna be fun!

This sounds interesting. Is there any chance you could teach this as an online class? I live too far away from Kansas.
BTW, thank you for all you share. I love your artwork.

Online classes are one of my goals…. but I’m not there yet! And, thank you!
