Sunflowers grow wild in my part of the country, and I can’t help but smile when I come across a cheery patch of them along the roadside. Occasionally you can see a cultivated field of them as well, stretching a multitude of sunny faces across several enjoable seconds of sight seeing.
“Celebration” is a new mixed media piece that I did for my Kansas series. It is made of collaged paper scraps and acrylic paint. It has a bit of a rustic look. The name of the piece is taken from a bit of paper bearing the word “celebration” at the top left. There are other interesting little bits as well, like postage stamps, a vintage tally card, and more!
