Around Here… and last call for early bird class discount!

You haven’t been hearing much from me for awhile.  I have taken some time off over the summer to do some much need cleaning, organizing, and rearranging in my home as well as finishing up our new sunroom/dining room/workshop space.  One of these days I will write a post about the materials we used to make this stenciled cement floor..

That was immediately followed by our big GOTCHA Day event, celebrating the adoption of half of our children twenty years ago!  Here they are back then…

Immediately after that my husband and I went on our first camping trip by ourselves in over 30 years!  We had a great time spending a week in Colorado.  I spent a lot of time just soaking in the beauty and working on pages and planning for my 4 day in person Art Journaling workshop at Tessera Fine Art Gallery.  Tomorrow is the last day to get the early bird price… so if you plan to attend, call this number NOW! (316) 262-2435.  I have picked out some of my favorite pages, techniques, and materials to guide participants through making 30 page spreads as well as making the journal!

(that is actually gel medium in the jar, not marshmallow cream!)

Taking photos of my pages in the beautiful surroundings.  I am compiling these into a video that will hopefully be available on You Tube soon!

When we got back we hit the ground running with soooo much to catch up on!  I picked up my art from First National Bank in Hutchinson, and hung art at Dillon Nature Center, also in Hutchinson.  It will be hanging there until the end of September. Cards and prints are available there as well.

I had a couple of great groups in some workshops at the gallery..

And now I am busily preparing for three workshops in September in addition to the four day workshop.  I have also just released a new ‘Foodie’ sticker set, from my concessions artwork series.

One of my big projects lately has been trying to ‘go digital’ to decrease the piles of paperwork and try to get myself a little more organized.  The biggest jump so far has been to move from my paper planner to a digital one.  So far I am actually really liking it.  This version still allows me to write by hand, add doodles and colors, and even stickers!

Give me a month or so, and I will give you an update about how it is going!

And in the midst of it all, I am still getting some art made! So much fun… so little time!  You guys are important to me, so hopefully I get back to more regular blogging soon!
