Abstract art can seem a bit mysterious and unapproachable, both as a viewer and as a creator.  This workshop is aimed at removing barriers we may feel toward abstract art making and explore different approaches, techniques, and media in making our own abstract art. In this hands on workshop, we will learn how we can approach creating an abstract with both more confidence and success, even as an abstract novice. Using a wabi sabi approach, we will learn to value imperfections as an essential part of the process. We will examine why you should trust your intuition as you work and build your confidence so you can jump into abstract artmaking with an open mind and fearless heart!

Through the morning and afternoon sessions we will create our first piece by abstracting from reality, and the second piece will launch from art play. All materials will be provided (unless you want to bring your art journal to work in), so no need to bring anything with you!
