This is a fun, relaxing, and informative day of collage, fingerpaint, doodles and more to create a 12 x 16 piece of art ready to frame or mount. We will be using acrylic paints, papers, and more to create a floral painting while learning and perfecting several mixed media techniques. Best of all, we will be doing a bit of finger painting to create the bulk of our piece! Perfect way to destress and art away the cares of the world for a day!
Will take place in the Victory Road classroom surrounded by country scenery. You are welcome to bring a lunch, or you can purchase the catered lunch for $10.

JULY 19 – BIG WOODS
SPEND THE DAY IMAGINING YOURSELF IN A WOODED WONDERLAND FULL OF GIANT TREES, WOODLAND FOLIAGE, AND SUN TINTED SHADOWS. WE WILL BE CREATING LOOSE, REPRESENTATIONAL ABSTRACT WOODLAND SCENES AS WE EXPLORE THE USE OF COLOR, COMPOSITION, MIXED MEDIA MATERIALS, WET STRENGTH TISSUE PAPER, AND THE ANATOMY OF TREES. March 15 – A Closer Look
We will use watercolor and ink as a starting place to create an abstract microscopic style view. This is a relaxing intuitive process and we will include a foray into neurographic art.

JUNE 11- 14 – A MEDITERRANEAN ADVENTURE
Join us for four immersive days of mixed media art making fun inspired by the islands of the Mediterranean. We will be exploring unique mixed media techniques and materials to create faux ceramic tiles, fish prints, ancient pottery and more. Stories from past and present Cyprus, Crete, Sicily and more will inspire our art while we create. A focus will be on making elements that can be combined in different ways to make seperate pieces. Work in your own journal or on supplied materials to create a cache portfolio full of fun bits.

APRIL 19 – JOURNAL THE JOURNEY
Whether traveling abroad, or hanging out in our own neighborhood, we get so much more out of our journey through life when we take time to see and document the world we live in. Work in the supplied booklet style journal, or bring your own to record a past journey, or prep for a future adventure. We will look at lots of inspiration, and create flips, flaps, pockets and more.
