arlington farm and art market

This week was the last Arlington Farm and Art Market of the 2015 season.  I have so enjoyed getting to know the friendly (and energetic!) small town Arlington folk.  Such a great little community, and all the best of what a small town has to offer.

One of the highlights of the market is, of course, the produce….

And of course the delicious baked goods….

But this little town doesn’t stop there!  They have story time and crafts for the kids every week….

… and all kinds of art and handmade items (that’s where I come in)!

Aren’t these fun walking sticks?

Once a month they have all kinds of special activities like special music and a pork burger meal. (Pork from locally raised hogs, no less!)

They also have some special demonstration, like weaving, blacksmithing, or this week’s tepee raising!

Also every month is the community canvas painting where everyone (young and old) can get creative and play with paint.

Then, on this final market day, they added a silent auction….

What a fun season!  Can’t wait to see what wonderful things are planned for 2016!  Be sure and include the Arlington Farm and Art Market in your plans for next summer!

That market looks fantastic. I wish they had something like that around my way. I organized a community canvas at one of the art exhibitions I ran. My thinking had been it would keep kids busy while their parents perused the art but it was popular with adults too. We used pencils instead of paint because paint within an art exhibition could have been catastrophic but I think the paint looks like it was great fun. Those baked goods look delicious.
