These are a wordy little group of chickadees hanging out on trees made from book pages that have been sprayed and splattered with coffee. The background is made from squares of National Geographic pages treated with Citra Solv.
The birds were constructed separately of paper and acrylic paint. They have been stitched and then a Signo Uni-ball white gel pen was used to add the detailed feathers. The chickadees were then added to the branches and final shading and more details finished.
“The Chickadee Three” is on a 24 x 30 inch canvas. It is currently hanging at Tessera Fine Art Gallery in Wichita, and is $295. Call (316) 262-2435 if interested.
