Mighty Jungle was created as a demo piece on the final day of workshops for the Topeka Art Guild. We were making use of many of the techniques we had used throughout the week, so I started with alcohol inks on a raw wood panel.
Then I added some of my palette paper on the elephants.
Then I just kept adding papers, paints, inks, oil pastel and oil paint stick until it felt done to me.
Everyone in the group did a good job on their final piece, and did lots of new things throughout the week! Mixed media is a whole new way of approaching art making!
The Mighty Jungle is now hanging, along with many other pieces of my art at Botanica in Wichita for the month of April.
