Welcome!

I have had several new subscribers lately, so I wanted to take a moment to say welcome to my creative little corner. My name is Kayann Ausherman, and for me, creativity is not about making art as much as it is a way of living. It is a journey that I invite you to take with me.  Creating and making are among the holiest of activities.

This little watercolor tree was one of my first ventures out of a lifetime of crafting, and into making art, a distinction that I still find hazy at times. In my art making I love to experiment with materials and explore the possibilities. I am drawn to mixed media because I love the freedom of using anything that catches my fancy as an art material. I am fascinated with the idea of redeeming something destined for the trash bin by including it in my artwork. Paper collage work finds its way into many of my pieces.

Here in my blog posts you can keep up to date on workshops I am teaching and events I am attending. You will find tutorials, be introduced to my new pieces of art, be given free printable coloring pages, have quotes and books shared. I hope it will prove to be some creative inspiration for you.

Today, as I often do on Sundays, I have a coloring page for you to print and use as an aid to meditation and relaxation. Today’s choice is from Proverbs 19:20-21

I am still learning to use Procreate on my iPad Pro, so practiced color fills on my verse.

I still prefer watercolor for coloring book images, but there are some great possibilities with working digitally as well. What is your medium of choice on a coloring page?

Hope you have a lovely and blessed day!

I wish I had skills to create digitally. Watercolor would be my preference given my lack of digital art. I could see using markers or pastels as well. So good to have a message of trust that there’s something bigger and more intelligent in this universe.

Welcome to my blog home! I love watercolor as well, but don’t take the time to use them as much as I would like.
