The Return of the Lil’ Junkers!

One of my hottest gift items has been the Lil’ Junker. They are a handly little 4 x 6 inch size and are stuffed with a full 1/2 inch worth of lovely ‘junk’ papers gleaned from my stash of book pages, scrapbook paper, painted papers, vintage postcards, maps, old file cards, and whatever other interesting bits I come across to add to the collection.

These are all bound together with a plastic ring embellished with a bit of sari fabric and beads.

While in college locally my daughter worked for me part time and took over the making of these little journaling gems. These have been out of stock for several months since my daughter moved out of state for graduate school. I simply didn’t have time to go back to making them myself since I now am busy full time making and teaching art.

But hooray! I now have a new helper, and she has taken over making the Lil’ Junker, under my guidance, just in time for holiday shopping!

What do you do with a Lil’ Junker? So many options!

  • a notebook just the right size to slip into your purse,
  • a great art journal that gives you a bit of a head start with pages that are already interesting,
  • a handy source of collage fodder for art making,
  • a scrapbook or glue book with pages ready to receive whatever you want to add,
  • add some gesso to the pages and have a lovely sketchbook

At only $13.50 it makes a very affordable (and easy to mail) gift. Watch for them locally at upcoming holiday markets or buy online from my etsy shop.
