Tips for Seeing 2020 Success!

As I am sure you all know by now, I am super excited about my Seeing 2020 Project! I know several of you are on board and planning to participate, so as we get ready to jump in this week I thought I would share some tips and resources with you to help you along the way.

TIPS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Have a little work station, or a small kit of supplies (pencil, micron, small scissors…) readily accessible. It is amazing how much you can get done in just a few minutes here and there if you don’t have to go hunt down your supplies when you have a few moments.
  • Keep the prompt list handy if you are using it. Print it out and fold it up inside your planner. Or, if your planner has month view pages like mine, that is the perfect place to write in the prompts.
  • If you fall behind, just pick back up on the current day. If you have time later you can go back to the days you missed. This is not to be something to stress about, but rather to increase our mindfulness each day, to really see the world around us, and to bring some daily creativity into our life! Doing any of the days is far better than doing no days!
  • Feel free to work out of order if a particular prompt catches your interest on a particular day. This is just to guide you to do some daily reflection. Feel free to ignore my prompt if you already have something that strikes your fancy. The prompts are just there if you need a little structure to help you out!
  • Don’t feel like each page needs to be an original masterpiece! I am using lots of stickers, printables (I will be offering several here on my website as well!), my cutable victory zine, and magazine cut outs alongside occasional sketches or more artsy stuff. Mine will be more of a glue book/journal to keep things easy for myself!
  • Share your work! This not only holds ourselves accountable to do it, but it also provides encouragement for ourselves and others. Who knows who might be inspired by our bit of work! Hashtag #projectseeing2020 or #seeing2020 in social media so we can all follow along and see what you are doing!

SUGGESTED RESOURCES:

ART RESOURCES:

  • I used alot of printables by Teesha Moore and highly recomend a membership to the Artstronauts Club where there are oodles available!
  • There are also loads of fun printables available on Etsy, including in my own shop.
  • stickers like these, or these. Just search for water bottle stickers and you will find many options that are a nice size to use in our planner/journal!
  • Tim Holtz ephemera, like these, also come in handy. I like to peel these in half so they aren’t quite so thick.

And here are a couple of printables that you can use with your January prompts if you wish!

Prompts for the first week:

  • 1 – Intentions for 2020
  • 2 – US – whatever that means for you
  • 3 – See how you treat your body
  • 4 – Look back at the year gone by
  • 5 – Resolute

Hope you come along and enjoy! If it has been awhile since you used your creative muscles, hang in there! The more we create the easier it will begin to flow!
